I didn't try a browser, but I tried a telnet client on POSE for linux.  It
works just fine. So the browser should work since HTTP is also built on TCP/IP.
 It seems you mentioned that you are behind firewall, that probably explains
why.  Check the browser software to see if there is a place you can setup a
proxy.  Ask for assistance from your network administrator.
