I went thru this problem a couple weeks back and posted a solution that isn't optimal but seems to be working for the time being. My scenario is a little specialized, but take a look thru the forum archives for my posts about NetLibClose (hmm . . . escribe seems to be down at the moment). I'm taking my code to PalmSource to hopefully get a definitive answer :)
