OS-wise, the i705 looks much like a Palm VII. In particular, it supports the InetLib for communication through its radio link.
The Push technology is handled by the OS invisibly to the device applications. If something is pushed to the device, it is caught by the OS and turned over to the Exchange Manager for delivery to device-resident applications. The most typical usage scenario would no doubt be via MIME type, but I **think** that creatorId is also supported (somebody on the i705 team would know for sure). Any application that runs on a VII should run on a i705. -bob mckenzie, palm portland -----Original Message----- From: Brian Smith [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, February 04, 2002 7:25 AM To: Palm Developer Forum Subject: RE: i705 wireless access On Mon, 4 Feb 2002, Akhilesh Singh wrote: > I too wanted to know that! My guess is the latter, but that's only because of what's been reported so far to me. It would be good to know for sure, though. I got an email from a user of an app of mine (which uses NetLib) over the weekend saying that it wasn't working with the i705 wireless access. That symptom is consistent with what I've seen reported before with the Palm VII series, so it seems logical that InetLib is still needed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brian Smith // avalon73 at arthurian dot nu // http://www.arthurian.nu/ Software Developer // Gamer // Webmaster // System Administrator Truly great madness cannot be achieved without significant intelligence. -- Henrik Tikkanen -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/tech/support/forums/ -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/tech/support/forums/
