A user of one of my Palm apps is reporting a strange problem that I'm
unable to reproduce and which has not been mentioned in this forum or in
the newsgroups.

My app (TimeCopy) syncs the Palm's clock with the PC. When notified at the
end of the hotsync, my app sets an alarm in order to actually update the
Palm's clock a couple of seconds later (when processing the AlarmDisplay
launch code).

My app does not display anything, neither on the SyncNotify nor on the
DisplayAlarm launch code, it only updates the clock and the app's preferences.

This is working fine on all PalmOS versions from 1.0 up, except for this
user's m505 with PalmOS 4.0.

Apparently it has been working fine for quite some time, but recently, the
Palm's screen is becoming blank when my app's alarm is processed. Hitting
any of the hard buttons will bring the palm back to life.

There's a recent thread in the alt.comp.sys.palmtops.pilot newsgroup about
a similar problem with BackupBuddy's TimeSync app:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&selm=Msec8.2613%24Q9.479192%40twister.kc.rr.com

The thread mentions that sometimes, a hard reset fixes the problem for a
couple of hotsyncs, and one of the posters writes that the PalmOS4 FATFS
update fixed the problem for him.

Does this ring a bell for someone, is this a known problem of PalmOS4, ... ?
