Bob, I think Joe's answer was correct, but it left out some details. For the sake of simplicity, Joe's example just used MemPtrNew() to allocate space for the packed string, and didn't mention that the common practice is to use pointers to data records, etc. Thanks for elaborating on my answer. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
