Greetings,

Building conduits in XTND Connect (XC) should be fairly straightforward. I
don't work for XTND, but have used the tool quite a bit. The hardest part
is just getting the system configured correctly to sync, but that can be
done without too many problems. I've outlined the basic steps you can use
to get up and running with a sync. Adding a Notes DB on top of this is
pretty simple after getting the basic connectivity to XC operating.

To get a system up and working here's what you need to do:

1. Create a new XC file and use the authentication built into XC
2. Create a new Action Set (call it "MyActionSet")
3. Create a new File Action in your new Action Set ("MyInstall"), and set it
to install any .prc file you want (this is for testing)

Note: at this point you need to go into the server prefs (double-click the
"Connect Configuration" item at the top of the left pane). On the "General"
tab, you need to setup a trigger that will run on every sync, and have the
default action set be "MyActionSet". Read in the docs about triggers . . .
when I first started using XC, it took me a while to figure out why my
actions weren't running . . . I hadn't setup a trigger :)

Note2: on the XC menu, under "File->Service Settings" make sure your "PalmOS
Config File Path" is set to your new file. If it is not set to your file,
it doesn't matter how many changes you make to your config file . . . If XC
isn't using your config file to run the sync, your changes won't make any
impact to the sync file :)

At this point, you should have one action set with one file install action.
Make sure you have a user defined in XC (probably "User/password" for now).
Put XC into debug mode (see the docs). Now sync (I just use the emulator)
as User/password and assuming everything is setup correctly you should have
the prc file downloaded to your emulator.

Once this works, try adding a new DB action to sync with Notes. Use the
generic conduit for the Palm DB . . . the docs walk through how to do this.

Hopefully this info will get you rolling. Let me know if you have
additional difficulties.

Cheers,

-DGA
