Its best to use a third party tool.  HandEra sells FlashPro and related 
products that work on many devices, including a version that is 
embeddable into your own applications.  Brayder sells JackFlash, a 
popular end-user flash management app that works with a wider range of 
devices than FlashPro.

While some Palm OS devices do write back to their flash chips (the Palm 
VII and VIIx use this to store Mobitex registration data, for example), 
this isn't something supported by the OS.
