I'm not enamoured of the shareware concept.  Too many people
will use your software without paying you for it. 
Best to provide cripple-ware or time/function limited version
that allows users to examine your product and its quality before
buying it.   The problem is to know where to draw the line and
how to provide the potential customer with a viable experience
of your product without giving it away.  That varies depending
on what kind of software it is and who your target market is.
