DmDeleteRecord marks the record deleted, but it won't be removed from the DB until you sync with a desktop. DmRemoveRecord removes the record immediately.
As for whether DmRemoveRecord or DmDeleteDatabase is better, I'd pick DmDeleteDatabase and follow it by recreating the DB personally.
