The main problem I can see is that this has to be system-level (difficult to introduce and will cause slow-downs) or compiled into the executable (so it can't be applied to generic apps and will alter the speed of the app). But I'm outside my field here, we're both really waiting for one of the systems geeks to explain how to do it.
