Hi David,
Comments below ... >S'OK! The more the merrier! Heh - I saw an old M*A*S*H episode yesterday: Pierce (Hawkeye): "The morter, the merrier!" ... He was going nuts anyway ... you? :-P >aren't well-formed, I figure we have to let the user be responsible for >doing certain things right! These are programmers, after all! Yes ... and no. My expectations of a programmers editor is that the editor will catch these faults. Otherwise it will no more better than your usual Borland/M$ VC++/.NET editor: fine for the beginner, lousy for the expert (as it is not evolving as the human behind the keys). Programmer or not. The editor is to blame. "Yes your Honour, the editor did it!" I know that some people holds the compiler as the ultimate syntax checker ... but hey, it only tells you that you missed something. A good compiler tells you where you missed something. The syntax-checking editor will tell you _why_ you missed something ... otherwise I'd have to dig out that old 'lint' (or clint (yeah "eastwood" - killing all my bad :-)) util ... :-) >Yeah, yeah. What was that you were saying about noise? ;) Hehe ... oooh *nothing*, blink, blink :-) >OK, I realize this *should* be out on SourceForge or something, and maybe >I'll get it out there soon. *No, no, no*! I just didn't realize what project I'm getting involved in :-) (Didn't read all the mails that carefully) :-) I know of On board C - I welcome the addition of an editor :-) >Heard a lot about VI ( ... or the 'six' editor as it is known as in certain society circles ...) >PPK (or whatever kb you're using) so this is fertile ground for cool new >features! We'd welcome your help! I'll check out the site tomorrow (= later today :-) Maybe I can help ...
