Hi,

PalmAlice is a PalmOS port of A.L.I.C.E. Based
on the WinAlice PocketPC implementation.

>From the http://www.alicebot.org/ website:
"A.L.I.C.E. (Artificial Linguistic Internet
Computer Entity) is an award-winning free natural
language artificial intelligence chat robot. The
software used to create A.L.I.C.E. is available
as free ("open source") Alicebot and AIML software.

Try talking to A.L.I.C.E. just like a real person,
but remember you are really chatting with a machine!
A.L.I.C.E.'s Alicebot engine utilizes AIML (Artificial
Intelligence Markup Language) to form responses to
your questions and inputs.

Unlike other commercial chat robot software costing
thousands of dollars, the Alicebot engine and AIML
are freely available under the terms of the GNU
General Public License (used by GNU/Linux and
approximately 140 other pieces of software). The
A.L.I.C.E. project includes over 500 contributors
from around the world."

PalmAlice rc2 is ready for download at:
http://savannah.gnu.org/download/bang/PalmAlice-rc2.zip

The code is free on CVS at:
https://savannah.gnu.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs/bang/PalmAlice/

This implementation is created around the Agent Ruby
brain by Lynn Hershman, a San Francisco artist.
A Palm beaming station will be opened at the San Francisco
Museum of Modern Arts (SFMOMA) now in June. You can
also chat to Agent Ruby on the web at
http://www.agentruby.com/ Agent Ruby is the lead
character in the movie Technolust by Lynn Hershman
that was premiered at the Sundance film festival
this year.

The final graphics are not included in this release
but will be there in the final release later this
week.

The Palm code could use some help with optimization.
It currently runs on PalmOS3.1, 3.5, 4.0 & 4.1.
It should run on PalmOS3.0 and PalmOS3.3 but it doesn't
we need your help here too.

Warm regards,
Robert Vidar Bjarnason
