Thanks for the suggestions.  And, wow, that sure seems like a pain.  
Oh well, if that's what it takes, that's what it takes.  I don't 
see an obvious "field changed event", is there something like it?  
All of the example code I see on the 'net only does Graffiti.  I 
want to support the keyboard as well.  Speaking of keyboard, I 
assume you mean the soft keyboard.  How do the hardware keyboards 
insert characters - simulated Graffiti or the same way the soft
keyboard does?
