Several questions about IrDA support. There are many levels (protocols) that make up the IrDA specification. There is the Physical Layer (PHY), the Link Access Protocol (IrLAP), the Link Management Protocol (IrLMP) and many more. How much of the IrDA specification is already in the Palm?
I have an application that I need to do only a few things. I need to be able to communicate to another piece of equipment that must be IrDA compliant to some level. The other device is not a Palm or PalmOS device. Primarily the application needs to do is: 1) Send some ASCII text data (data can come from file or screen) 2) Receive some ASCII text data (data can be saved to file or displayed) 3) Have a scripting language 4) Must do this via IR port and must be IrDA compliant Are there applications available that already do this, via IR? Names? Is there any IrDA library available that makes this task easier, if a new application needs to be written? Thanks in advance. -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
