Dave, Just to give you my 2 cents . . . I would use C++. Or rather, I do use C++, using VC++ 6.0 with the generic conduit classes I was able to very quickly create a working conduit. It was my first one, and with the sales conduit example in the Palm Programming books from O'Reilly was able to get it up and working in just a few days. The biggest problem I encountered was getting ODBC support so that I could use desktop databases in a variety of flavors.

I will be developing my conduit soon and wanted opinions on whether to do it in Java or C++. I already have some Java dev to do on the sync PC so I would prefer using Java. Are there and negatives to using Java as opposed the C++ CDK besides no Mac support?
