Not to sound redundant (but I will =) ), seriously, is there an general ball
park of a release date for hardware running on the ARM processor? We have
not been able to find anything that mentions this!
The reason I ask is because we are about 2.5 months deep in developing a
product and we are now starting to wonder if we should switch platforms to a
pocket PC device. One of the main reasons for switching is my familiarty
with Win32 and better UI controls. The reason we chose a palm device to
begin with was so that our hardware can wake up the device via the serial
port. We have researched the compaq ipaq (soon to be HP ipaq), which
already runs on an ARM processor, has all of the hardware requirements we
need, has a quite a bit more memory, and only costs about 100 dollars more
the m515..
We have not made the switch because of the following reasons:
- 2.5 months of invested time ( I can't let go of my work =) ).
- I am becoming more familiar with PalmOS (and wrote a killer list
control!! )
- Hardware was orignally designed for palm os device.
- Eventually(?????) there will be comparable hardware.
That is why I ask in general when "they" plan to release hardware for PalmOS
5!!
Thanks,
Brad Figler
