Alas, they're not (or are no longer) fully operational from out here.

        $ telnet news.palmos.com nntp
        Trying 216.91.57.203...
        telnet: connect to address 216.91.57.203: Connection refused

The server doesn't accept incoming NNTP connections. Well, I wonder if
we can send email to it?

        $ nslookup -query=mx news.palmos.com
        [...]
        news.palmos.com mail exchanger = 10 mars.lyris.net.

        $ telnet mars.lyris.net smtp
        Trying 216.91.57.203...
        telnet: connect to address 216.91.57.203: Connection refused

Apparently not. And it's the same machine; I wonder what its canonical
name is?

        $ host 216.91.57.203
        203.57.91.216.in-addr.arpa. domain name pointer r03l0d.lyris.net.

Well, that's interesting... Either your DNS got broken, or the "new
server" consists of outsourcing the server to those paragons of good
engineering, Lyris. Enquiring minds would like to know which it is so
that they can build up their conspiracy theories :-).

(That hostname led me to look at http://www.lyris.net/; wow, now I have
*even more* respect for the folks at Lyris Corp than I did after being
subjected to their software for a few years!)
