A hack is a separately loaded file that extends or modifies certain traits of the Palm OS. Hacks can change the way applications call on the Palm OS to perform various functions. An example of a hack would be something that changed the default behavior of the Palm OS, such as showing the time in a different part of a form than at the top of the screen. Since hacks interfere with normal OS operation, you must be careful not to interfere with any critical software running under the OS.
