  or, as i have seen some applications do :)

  WinDrawChars() and WinCopyRectangle() --> 1 pixel on the upper half
  of the characters *g* i found that this is a quick/dirty/simple solution,
  however, it is best to have a custom font, you can fix the rounding
  of characters especially with letters like 'O', 'P' et al.
