This may not be want you want, but you can create your own custom font for
Palm, at least through Pilrc. Refer to pilrc docs. There's a small program
called xFont from Monte Soft which is free that lets you do this through a
usable GUI (if done in Windows). There's an import feature (never tried it
though) which makes creating a new font less onerous.
There's a shareware Pilot Font Editor and it has some sample code on the
site on how to use font resources once you have created them:
http://www.sergem.net/fontedit/devinfo.html. It's got a fonthack example
also. The site also has a util to dl the system fonts off of the palm.
 Probably Falch Net has a similar feature (I never used it enough to find
out if it's a feature). I don't remember a CW8 font feature for Palm, you
could probably do it using PilRC using the CW plugin, but CW9 probably will
have it. (CW developers will have to answer this).
This may be a rather weighty way of fixing your problem, since you only want
to modify 2 characters.
