Hi, Having trouble getting Ben's recipe for installing a prc from another prc - http://www.palmoswerks.com/stories/storyReader$46 - to work on OS5, on the simulator and Tungsten.
The bundled prc is built correctly, but doesn't show in the OS5 launcher until after a soft reset. Investigation of this shows that the a68k shadow app is not created until after the soft reset. I have tried various tricks to get the shadow app (which appears to be an empty resource database when the app isn't running) to be created - including sending a HotSync code to my newly spawned prc, sending a HotSync code to launcher. I have even tried to create the a68k shadow myself, both by bundling an existing one with my master prc, spawning it and changing the type and name and by creating a new (empty) resource database... but to no avail! So, the question is - how do I 'kick' the launcher into doing whatever it does when an application is usually installed, so that it becomes aware of my newly spawned prc so that it is shown to the user without a reset!
