I've created an app icon family (ID 1000) in my app. It contains eight bitmaps in this order:
1 bit normal res, ID 1100 2 bit normal res, ID 1110 8 bit normal res, ID 1130 16 bit normal res, ID 1140 1 bit double res, ID 1150 2 bit double res, ID 1160 8 bit double res, ID 1180 16 bit double res, ID 1190 As far as I can tell, this is legit, and the system should display my app icon in double resolution on the Simulator and a real OS 5 device (I use a Tungsten). Unfortunately, the system shows the normal res icon. Oddly enough, the Palm OS Simulator shows the icon in double res, as does the Sony Simulator. Also, my app uses those same bitmaps in another family to draw on its forms, and the double res version is used. What might I be doing wrong to cause this? Is this possibly a bug in the system code managing the launcher's icon cache database? I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling, but that didn't change anything.
