get the errors when I start a new project from scratch & build it.

1) Check the output folder setting in your Target Settings panel. Perhaps this was set to an absolute path that doesn't exist on the new machine.
2) Use the Project Inspector dialog to see what the IDE thinks your various project files are. If you see something marked as a resource file that isn't (or vice-versa), delete it from the project and readd it.
