As a mostly Java programmer, I was initially interested in writing Java apps
for the Palm, but when I dug into the Palm platform, and tried out
CodeWarrior, Java no longer seemed like such a good idea. I'm still
interested to J2ME programming, but I'm the type who likes to get down to
the basics before I start building up on top of it. The CLDC/MIDP chicanery
still seems so complicated. Much more complicated than simply grinding out
some C code in a CW project.
I'm curious about the number of developers writing J2ME apps for the Palm
platform. Is anyone out there? It sounds like everyone on this list is using
CodeWarrior. Does anyone think that J2ME for Palm is a viable paradigm right
now?
