I am also a J2ME developer. I also think that J2ME has a very good future. Because of its simplicity in specifically Network/Internet programming. It is so easy to delvelop a internet app or port existing web based applications to wireless mobile / PDA apps.
It is also supporting multiple devices like various mobiles / Palm and other PDAs.
