Are you aware that most apps (at least ones that haven't purposefully altered the standard OS behavior) allow you to tap the form title to access menus? This probably doesn't help when a game is present, but it is a nice / easy way to get to the menus without having to open the Tungsten.

Well it does, much of the time, but doesn't seem to be quite the same
action as pressing the silkscreen button. If the application (usually a
game) blocks the hard keys from the system, then this doesn't work any
more.

Also, it'd be nice to make the menus pop down in some way.
