Actuall, I'm wanting to create a database that will be read by the system. 
Because of this I can't have the version as the first two bytes.  Actually, I
was able to get it to work usign the Preferences functions and kludging the
version information as part of the data in the resource.

I still don't know why the resource is in the unsaved section.
