Strange world, why didn't they put a small mask rom inside the flash-rom devices just with a small flash-rom writing routine... But I guess you could probably connect a killed device to SDS using the debug pins of the dragonball?

you can render the device useless by killing the smallrom (32k) image
on the device. that needs to be in place for you to be able to reflash
the bigrom :)

screwing the smallrom is not an easy thing to recover from *g*
been there, done that.. binned device (it was an old IIIc anyhow) :P
