Hi All, I just got a call from a customer testing my software on a T-675C.
He said that he's been having troubles for a while now of various kinds and we always assumed it was bugs in my software. This isn't that much of a worry, as we're in development. The device has never required a hard reset because of a fatal exception. It's worth noting that I'm testing here in my office with an NR70 before I send him anything, so I usually feel I've given things a good test before I send them to him. However, today, he did a full backup, and then did a hard reset to clear the memory so that testing can begin with a fresh start. Upon boot up, it didn't get past the Clie animation, and crashed again. When it booted up this time, it shows the digitizer screen in many languages prompting for the first tap. He says that after the second tap, it crashes again. Now, the only way he can get past the digitizer screen is to hold the up button during boot-up. However, if he does this and then tries to turn on the hi-res assist, he gets a dialog that says that "some system files" are missing. I can understand that the high res would only work if the Clie has the chance to initialise it's high res libraries, which might not happen if the device is started with the up button. What I can't understand is why, after a hard reset (we went through yet another one on the phone when I was talking to him) and there's no software not provided in ROM on the device, there should still be troubles. I told him to call Sony support directly...but if that number exists on the Sony web site, I wasn't able to find it. Any ideas? -Ken -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
