Here's my two cents: Idiots don't read FAQs. You can't really change their behavior. The only behavior you can change is that of people who care about newsgroup etiquette. With that in mind, I address the following to them:
1) Don't feed the trolls. This is the #1 rule. The most dramatic way to decrease noise is to ignore it. Don't give it a free C lesson. Don't exercise your finely-honed sarcastic wit on it. Don't even complain about it. Just ignore it. 2) This is a technical forum. Personal remarks and sneers are suspect. Avoid them. No one cares what your opinion of another person or his habits are. When in doubt, ask yourself, "What would Ben do?" 3) This is a Palm forum. It's tempting to cherry-pick the easy C questions (especially from girls), but they should be ignored.
