Could anyone express his/her opinion concerning Intel XScaleT
Microarchitecture Software Development Tools for Palm OS?
I've heard that the Intel tools are great at optimising for Intel
chips. But just to make sure you understand: only a small percentage
of Palm OS devices run on Intel chips. TI and Motorola's chips
(whether ARM or not) won't be able to handle things if you throw
Intel-specific code at them. For example, Palm Inc's Tungsten T
device runs a TI chip, and nobody (as far as I know) has committed to
any particular chip vendor for a long-term relationship.

So unless you are certain your app will only ever be run on Intel
hardware, you should stick with the standard ARM opcodes. But if
you've got a very specific situation where you control the hardware,
and you've already exhausted the many other optimization
possibilities (e.g. ARMlets in general), then it might well be worth
investigating.

In other words, I don't have an opinion I'm willing/able to offer,
other than wanting to ensure you understand the tradeoffs.
