Getting insPtXPos and insPtYPos in OS 5+ is possible. Just take the OS 4 source code of Field.c and carefully rewrite all relevant functions in an OS 5+ legitimate way [cf. SetInsPtFromStringPos() etc.]. It's doable [I did it] although it is not at all trivial.
