With thanks to Alan and others I am starting see some of the problems with my database code.
I have now developed a different set of problems. I have upgraded to an evaluation copy of CodeWarrior v8 and have installed SDK5. The SDK installation failed to detect a current installation of CW and so I installed into an SDK50 folder next to the eval CW. I have followed the installation instructions within the readme file and copied across the various new dlls etc.
My problem now is that updates of my previous code sent to me are generating 'Illegal data in X' errors. These relate to LongLong68K.cp, NMWException.cp, StartupCommon.c and a number of other files all within the \CodeWarrior\Palm OS Support\CodeWarrior Libraries\Source Code\StartupCode\Src folder. I have tried the help files suggestion of compiling the various .c and .cp files but get a string of further errors relating to illegal NULL values. I can only presume this approach is in error and hope there is a simple shift in one of my project settings.
The demo version of V8 can only link against the .lib files that shipped with the V8 demo. Trying to use .lib files from the 5.0 SDK will fail, since they were built with the full version of CodeWarrior. We do not support using SDK with the demo other than the one shipped with it, since the demo is just to see how the product works, not for real software development.
