First of all, I've seen talk about a Zire emulator that's available through
the Palm SG Developer Program. I've signed up and found simulators for the
Z71, Tungsten T & Tungsten C, and an emulator for the Tungsten W. As I
understand it, it is also not possible to debug directly on a Zire device
using CW9?

That's right. The Zire m150 has a software problem on the device that keeps the debugger nub from properly communicating over USB. The console may work to some extent, but downloading is unreliable, and I've crashed Windows just trying to access the driver with the Zire during development of V9.

I would assume the non-Zire device most like it would be a Palm V (2MB) running a Palm OS 4.1 ROM. The HAL wouldn't be identical, but the memory limits should be the same.
