First of all, thanks a lot for the reply.

I would like to have more details on why Arabization for Palm OS 5.x is
not possible? Becuase it would seem more logical for me to start
Arabization that can be easily migrated to Palm OS 5.x, otherwise, I am
wasting my time!

As with regards to displaying Arabic Text/Font properly on the Screen
without having any problem, I think in the end, the front-end application
(like QuickWord for example) must be aware that it is working with such
bi-lingual OS, and it must be implemented having this in mind. But, my
objective in the end, is to find the proper BALANCE between the effort
needed to affect the front-end application desing/implementation, and the
efferot needed to build the required infra structure to implement
Arabization for Palm OS.

Of course, as you said, this is a complex project. I remember I spent 3
months with 3 team members to Arabize the Epson LQ Dot Matrix Printer
which was a simple University Project using Assmebly Language to implement
the PC DOS Driver and Turbo Pasacl to Draw the Arabic Characters for the
Printer.

I now want to build on the theory first, desing the technique, decide on
the approach, then start actual coding. So I need to do a lot of reading
first.

For example, the method I want to follow is to re-define/re-direct all the
Native OS routines that are used to output any thing on the screen. The OS
Patch will then capture the text/font/graphics to be outputted, re-format
it as needed, then pass it to the origianl routine for final
processing/output.

Please note that I am comming from a PC-Based Development Platform which
is mostly depending on Microsoft Based Development Tools. So I hope what I
saying here does apply to the Palm platform!!!

Let me start first with READING and READING and READING. Can you direct me
to get a Book, or a detailed technical Article which has the required
information in that regard.

Thank you!
