I have same question too. I'm going to do a project with floating point
numbers and some calculation on them.

I found it is not mentioned in many popular books, such as Palm OS
Programming Bible, Palm OS Programming Developer Guide and Palm OS
Programming for Dummies. I can just find there is a chapter about routines
to change between floating pointing numbers and strings in "Advanced Palm
Programming".

Does it mean that Palm is not suitable to projects with floating numbers?

I am new to Palm development. I need to have a database that is made up
of
several tables. I understand that a table is a Palm database. Some of
these tables will be master files, for example an item master. Some of
the
tables will gather info. All tables will have to synchronize with my
companies desktop app. These tables need to have boolean, integer,
string,
floating, etc fields. They also need to have key fields. First, can
this be done with a Palm database? Second, what is a good reference I
can use
to
learn these? And finally, what is a good application to use to create
these
databases. I use Falch.net DeveloperStudio, which has a database
designer but I am only allowed integer and string fields and there is no
way to create keys.

Thank you very much.

David
