I didn't mention it but I've downloade the recent versions of course, but if
that code worked with the old, surely it must work with the new right?

I'm a student doing a final project and the spending of money in SW is out
of question. Enough  problems already with getting the money for the PDA...

I don't expect you to teach programming, just the very basics to help me get
started

Let's face it. Palm's site isn't very intuitive for newbies particulary in
programming. That's the reason for my precious post
