I've got it working with this, but this seems like the scenic route
to what I want to do. Or is this as efficient as things get
numberInt1 = (UInt32) onOrder.orderQty;
numberInt2 = (UInt32) onOrderFound.orderQty;
onOrder.orderQty = (UInt32 *)(numberInt1 + numberInt2);
