I'm quite interested to know if it is possible to gain access to the GSM radio parameters like RxLev, Cell Id, Timing Advance (TA) etc from within a Palm program on the new generatation PalmOS smartphones like the Treo 600 or Tungsten W.
I know for a fact that all GSM phones relay these parameters to the base station controller via the air interface, but I would like my Palm program to also access these parameters. There are some special phones that output these parameters via a serial interface... but if we can access these parameters via PalmOS on a smartphone... then it would be possible to create a very usefull network analysis application on a Palm device with a built in phone. Maybe someone here know if it can be done or not... maybe through the AT+ command set or something?
