Using POSE, BMP-to-PBM lets you open and view Windows BMP and Palm bitmap (PBM) files and save them in Palm bitmap format to desktop files and Palm databases (PDB). The program automatically converts 1,4, and 8-bit BMP graphics to Palm 1,4, and 8-bit bitmaps, retaining the original BMP color table, and converts 24-bit BMP files into 8-bit Palm bitmaps. When saving PBM images, you can select a compression method and remove the color table from 8-bit graphics, reducing their sizes. BMP-to-PBM includes a basic image viewer for previewing and managing images in files and PDB databases.

The demo version works with bitmaps of up to 25 x 25 pixels. The full version costs $24.95. Both versions are available at www.slorevo.com.

Requirements
------------
POSE 3.3 or greater on Windows or Macintosh (untested on Unix), using a Palm OS 4.0 or greater color ROM.

Program Limitations
-----------------
- Does not support 16-bit graphics
- Only supports 72 dpi images
- Does not handle compressed BMP files
- Can only save bitmaps of up to 64K bytes uncompressed, but you can open and view bitmaps of any size, limited by heap space.
