Hi all.
I'm on my final year at university and as a final project we're supposed to
develop an app to communicate between a PDA and a PC with Linux. My collegue
is working on the PC development and I'm worknig on the PDA (Palm m515 with
Palm SD BT card).
The app we were thinking on creating for the palm was something that would
allow the user to send any file on the palm, regardless of its extension to
another device (in our case a PC with BlueZ stack on it) using the Exchange
Manager of Palm.
My problem at this time with the app was how to select a particular file
(JPEG,TXT or anything else, even a Vcard) from a app database. I can select
and connect to BT devices. I can select a database from the Palm, but don't
know how to select a particular file. Reading through Palm's documentation
(PamOS Reference and Companion) records seem to me as the more file likely
unit in Palm's system.
However I can't seem to be able to select one of them regardless of their
extension and later on get their extension. For example, I managed to send a
database with the ExgManager but had to explicitly declar the .pdb
extension. How do I get the extension of something? And how do I send a
particular file? Is it with records as I think?
Any help you might be able to provide, would be great.
Thx for the attention anyway.
Ricardo Marques
