Since the shareholders have approved the split, and it looks like it
becomes official tomorrow, shouldn't this forum be split into a OS
specific forum and a new licensee specific forum?

The other major licensee's seem to have their own developer forums
(sometimes several) to separate out device-specific questions from
generic PalmOS application development questions.

Our philosophy in general is to avoid creating licensee-specific mailing lists, but instead have technology-specific mailing lists. We could do both, but if there are too many lists, you end up degrading the "user experience" and people start blindly cross-posting, it becomes hard to manage list memberships, etc.

This forum has always been for generic Palm OS questions... it was called Pilot-dev-forum back in the day, not PalmComputing-dev-forum.

Hopefully, someone at PalmOne is like actually responsible for
communicating with developers. A name or official contact-point,
and possibly even an introduction would certainly be appreciated.

They've had their own DTS group for quite a while; they run the http://pluggedin.palm.com website. As opposed to the platform's http://www.palmos.com/ site.
