your bmp image must be huge, but I had experience before compressing maps using Constructor, and I can't pack it all in 64K. I have as much as
220 KB compressed into around 50K. Using PiLRC is actually easy, and I'm sure you won't have much trouble using it. When compressing take note to use the FORCECOMPRESS method.

Development of PilRC is now a Sourceforge project -- we're on the verge of releasing version 3.0, and the current code in CVS has quite a few updates from the latest version on Aaron's site.
As of right now, PilRC only supports the most primative "scanline" compression method. We don't yet have code in place to support RLE (Palm OS 3.5+) or PackBits (Palm OS 4.0+) compression for images.
