I was waiting if somebody from Palm reacts. There seems to be a general agreement that the Palm OS is buggy in regards to the memory handling (my own experience confirms that), people are looking for some workarounds, yet - those who should know it - keep silent.
Advices of the type "limit your memory consumption" are for birds in certain apps. E.g. in the multimedia (my current area) you have to use all available memory as it brings more quality. Is it really that difficult to say, yes there are some bugs, try to keep some reserve, we suggest that and that much... Or (what would be even better): no, to 99.999% probability there is no problem in the memory management on the Palm side. Also, if the situation is really such as many say (i.e. a memory reserve is highly advisable), couldn't this be tackled at the tools level?
