Dell Dimension 4100 / Windows Me / Palmsim 5.0 & 5.3 / CW 8.3 I recently downloaded the Palm Simulator and the simulators for the T3 and the large-screen Clies (portrait and landscape). Unfortunately, they've been very unstable on my Windows Me machine. Specifically, after they start and splash the Palm screen, often they hang. Sometimes I can kill the process, but often when I Ctl-Alt-Del to get the list of active processes, the "Close Program" window comes up and my whole machine hangs, requiring a reboot. Sometimes Palmsim gets past the splash screen and I get the "Digitize" portion of the startup. At that point everything fine, but when drag any PRCs to the device to install them, it often hangs. When it hangs, my whole machine grinds to a near halt.
About 5% of the time I get past these steps and can run my app with the CW debugger, but often it crawls and eventually hangs. Often I get the error "Palmsim caused in error in KERNEL32.DLL" and it crashes. I thought my system got corrupted, so I ran scandisk and a couple of repair programs. Finally I reinstalled Windows Me and all of the latest patches, etc, but the problem persists. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
