TxtGlueTruncateString

I am using TxtGlueTruncateString.  Everything is OK as long as the 
string I pass into it is less than the MaxWidth.  If the string is 
longer than the MaxWidth, I get an error that says:

"...application just wrote to the storage heap..."

Does anyone have any examples of this function working?  I must be 
missing something obvious here.
