But of course, they do not want to activate the hotsync operation since it would backup their personnal data on the PC. They want to synchronize only my application.
Of course, I could program a conduit and configure the hotsync to sync only this application, but the 10 users may not trust the hotsync configuration. If no hotsync is launched, there is no risk.
But moreover, my PC application is a 4D database. I can easily speak from 4D to the palm app, through serial. If I make a conduit, then I'm not in 4D, and the conduit cannot access 4D data. All is much more complicated.
If I find a library to speak to palm through usb (or any cradle actually), I can write a 4D Plugin and work like in serial mode.
Thats why!
Maybe I'm missing something, I'm a bit of a self made developer with palm !

Through the cradle - it's not possible unless you made separate versions for serial and usb. The easiest way is to use this dll (I think I've heard ppl using it), the other way is to run some usb listener (hhd software, usbsniff) and take the communication protocol and made your own drivers. Shit. Why don't you use the hotsync with conduits?
