No, they do NOT use an OMAP processor. They use a XScale processor, and that is the whole point. This is a HARDWARE issue with the OMAP processors; it has nothing to do with the OS level. Deal with it. I believe there is sample code on what is needed to add IrDA framing in the OS knowledge base or FAQ. You may want to start there. Complaining about the CPU already installed is not going to get you anywhere.
