Palm folks, I haven't seen the 'Eclipse IDE' release, and I'm sure you're trying to figure out how to distribute it.. I have a good idea. :-)
Have the user download Eclipse, and the C/C++ JDT part separately. And please, please, create a .zip file with all the needed Cygwin files. Going through the whole Cygwin setup is frought with possible problems, didn't get make, Oops.. have some previous attempt to get it, so it didn't include file such-and-such Oops.. :-( a nice .zip file with just the files you need is perfect! As for bundling the majority of the files: One way would be to use WinZip 8.1 with split files, .zip .z01 .z02 etc., but if you go that route PLEASE add a line or two stating that you just drag in the 'main' .zip file and it'll handle all the other .z01 etc. files automatically. WinZips docs on doing this is hard to find/understand, and if you try to drag in .z01 and WinZip says 'it can't understand it' you just get very frustrated. The other way is to just use a series of 'good sized' .zip files, that way you don't need to download WinZip 8.1. I hope this helps, and I look forward to try/using the new IDE! :-) Thanks, Joe Siebenmann __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
