I think the best approaches so far, are as follows:
1.) Offer the cdrom for purchase, from the Palmsource website
2.) Distribute the whole compilation as a .torrent (I have
extensive experience here with this, from the distribution
side of things, and have offered my services, hardware, and
bandwidth to help out as needed).
3.) Break the downloads into logical components, and add an
internal "Update component <foo>" option from within the GUI.
Using ftp/http/mirrors doesn't scale well at all with something
this large, unless you're on an internal corporate fibre network.
Let's wait it out, they'll come up with something, no doubt.
